Surprise Attack

When Miss Taylor said we needed a blindfold, it left us all curious. After morning tea we got a blindfold and sat down, for a start, I thought that we were going to watch Wonder but I was wrong.

I put on a blindfold and after a few minutes a sweet fruity smell drifted up my nose. Was it banoffee pie? Or an orange? Maybe it was a slice of cheesecake, I had absolutely no idea, but it smelled like some sort of baking. The smell wanted me to take off my blindfold immediately, but I couldn’t, I just couldn’t.

I put my hands out and touched the mystery food, it was kind of wet, and squishy, and sort of curved, definitely not a slice of banoffee pie. I didn’t touch it for long, because I didn’t like the feeling of it. It sort of reminded me of a wet, squishy slug but I knew it wasn’t one, because slugs don’t smell sweet!

I squished the mystery food and heard juice squirting out of it. The noise was quite disturbing. The juice went onto my hands and was all sticky. BLEUCH!!!

Then we had to take a bite of the mystery food. I was terrified, it might have been a worm covered in perfume. Gross! I slowly picked up the food item and took a small nibble, suddenly a ginormous wave of citrus dashed down my throat. My tongue was on fire! I shouted “ewww!” and tried to spit the food out but only a seed managed to slip out of my mouth, the bite I took of the sour food had gone down the throat already.

I took off my blindfold and looked at the fruit. It was yellow. It was curved. It was sour...it was a lemon!

Real live Superheroes:SPCA Dr Chris Brown

In room we 7 this term have been working on our inquiry presentations. We had to choose a person that we thought was a superhero to research. Then we came 3 burning questions and answered them. Then we had to choose how we presented our presentation, we could choose a double door, a slideshow, powtoon or a poster. Here is mine.

Metaphor poem

Recently we have been working on metaphor poems that describe ourselves and the classroom. We have sent our class poster with all the metaphors on it to the Kawerau South School.

One of our activities was to describe ourselves as a sweet, tree, sandwich, clothing, vehicle and something in our community. Here is my metaphor poem:

Swimming sports 2018

A few weeks ago was 2018 swimming sports.

I competed in 1 length freestyle and 1 length backstroke, my places were sixth and fifth.
I was coming fourth in backstroke but I got tired and dropped down to fifth. In freestyle I wanted to come at least fourth but I came sixth.
Oranje and I put a balloon under Angus' seat and he popped it when he sat down, it was really funny!!
When each race started Oranje and I held up the Read signs and screamed READ READ READ!!!  I got a bit of yellow paint on my togs when I did that. Some of the lollies were really sour and for some reason I kept getting those ones (apart from one jellybean)!!!
I really enjoyed swimming sports this year and I cant wait for next year!!
