Nora the kakapo

When we are silent reading Mrs. May brings in a box. She calls us down to the mat and she opens the box inside it there is a green thing she pulled it out and there it was a stuffed toy Kakapo! Mrs. May said that the kakapo was called Nora, then she pulled out a certificate on the front of it, it said Certificate of adoption with a picture of a kakapo on it and beneath the picture there was a bit of information about kakapo's. Then our teacher pulled out 18 stickers and 18 bookmarks and of course there was a kakapo picture on both of them. 

Dance night-2016

Yay! We finally arrive at Simpson park where dance night is held. I see my Mum my Dad and my grandparents. 

I run to the back of the room where I dropped off my clothes during school time .

I get dressed into my tournament top and black pants and when I finished getting dressed I ask my friends to play with me.

Its time to line up behind Alex, as I run to my place we walk to the door and it's all dark.

I see the bleachers with all the parents sitting on them.

"Haere mai!"  says Alex, "Haere mai!"says Regen, they both say it twice then we dance onto the stage with all the people in front of us. I see my Dad put his hand up so I can see him properly.

It's the end of our whole school dance.

We see room 3 walk out the door of Simpson park, it's time for their dance.

When room 3 has finished their dance it's time for room 1's dance. Their dance is about pirates looking for treasure.

They finished their dance and it's time for my class' dance 'Footloose'. We see Caitlyn, Grace and Luca walk on stage with their air guitars. When they've done their second lot of playing their guitars its time for me, Logan and Oranje to play ours.

When all the groups have played their air guitars we all skip onto the stage.
We swing our arms around and slide our hands on and off of our knees.
Then we did chicken arms and tapped our feet.
When we were finished we knew that we did well because all the parents laughed at our bum wiggle. For my final pose I was between Floyd and Aria. The audience clapped. I could see my dad clapping.
At the end of all of the dances we did the 'Sid the sloth' dance.
It was time to go home and when I get in the car I bang my shoes onto the door, what a night that was!

My Olympic Athlete

BFG art.

This is my BFG art, BFG stands for big friendly Giant.

To make our BFG art our teacher gave us a sheet of white paper this was a practice and we had to draw our BFG and then we did our real art.

First we got a sheet of dictionary paper and then we got a sheet of black paper. We drew a Giant on the sheet of black paper and then we cut it out, then we cut out some buildings (what ever kind we wanted) and then we stuck everything on and there it was our BFG. 

My Speech

Should Lawrence area school have a school pet? I think so because they are cute and adorable. Everyone that I know has a pet and that’s why I think that the school should have a school pet.

Firstly let’s think about what kind it should be. I think the new pet should be a light brown labrador puppy, if it’s a girl it might be called Milly, and if it’s a boy we might call it Max. I think that dogs are more playful than cats. If it’s a girl the colour of the collar should be pink, and if it’s a boy the colour of the collar should be blue. It doesn't matter what colour the lead is but I think it should be red.

We also have to think about who would look after the puppy. Mrs May should look after the puppy and if she is on holiday or she is sick a farm person might be able to look after it and that sounds good to me.

If no one wants to look after the puppy Mrs. May might buy a run for it. That sounds fine to me. The puppy can run and sleep in the run which will make it very happy. We have lots of green grass for a dog to run around on and our school has a gate at the front so the dog would stay in and be safe.

We also need to decide who would feed the puppy. Well I do not think that one person should feed the puppy, but all of us could .What I mean is that we can take turns feeding it and that will be fair for everyone.

If just one person feeds the puppy then everyone might fight and we do not want that to happen. Imagine all of us fighting in the middle of the puppy run, people would see us and laugh at us and then the fight will get bigger and bigger every time then everyone then the whole school might laugh and fight but then the principal would come and we would be in trouble. The idea of having a pet is so that everyone learns to looks after a dog, so if we took turns feeding it then we are all learning to be more responsible.

I think we should have a school pet because  they are good company for people. No one will pretend that they are pet in a game because they would have the school pet. I think that someone could take the puppy home in the holidays or maybe at night, they can take the puppy on the little red lead to school.

But if some people are too scared of the puppy they might not want to take the puppy home. Since I have a litter box at home I might take the puppy for a night or two. A puppy would be well-looked after and get lots of attention. It would be great to get a school dog!

cross country 2016.

On Thursday we went to cross country. We packed our bags ready to go on the buss to gabrials gully, on the buss it was really loud I felt like i wanted to scream!!! When we finally got to gabrials gully we followed the big kids to where we put our bags. We found a packet of balloons and blew them up then Alawise tied them up and then put some string on the balloons, we all tied them on our bags, I put four balloons on my bag but the pink one popped, I still had three balloons and that was still plenty. Aria had, one, two, three,seven purple balloons all on her bag!!!!!!! I was looking for my Dad I heard his car pulling up, yippey he was finally here!!!! Then we heard Kate telling it was our age group for running. CLAP CLAP CLAP we were off! I ran down by the dragonfly pound I climbed up the big hill YAY i was finished (but i came last) still it was fun! Dad took me and heath home in the car we were home at last!!

Here we are at the museum we wait at the door to wait for the others they finally arrive we all run straight to the tuatara enclosure and henry has just popped up out of his hole.

Here are some tuatara eggs at the enclosure first the mother tuatara digs a hole in the ground and goes forth and then digs a hole were she lays the eggs. 

We go out of the tuatara enclosure and into a different room ,were there are two holes in a picture this is me and Grace putting our heads through a hole.

Do you know how heavy kakapo are? REALLY heavy, so heavy that kakapo can't fly!!!! There green feathers help them to hide from predators, but now they have an island all to them self.

When we got to the velodrome the first person we saw was Bradly he was riding a race bike and then he stopped for a rest at the bike shed and do you no what? We actually got to go in the very middle of the velodrome,we also got to see a motor bike racing  Bradly.

We went home to have dinner and after dinner we went to the pool!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so much fun at splash pales we sure did make a splash!!

Then we got home brushed our teeth and made up our beds I got to sleep with Katie and Amelia I brought Cutie,Cutie is the little puppy dog that I am cuddling.

 when Mrs May woke us up we got to choose a toko toko panle to stand by and then Mrs May took a photo of every single one of us.

Quick write - bridge

When I got my bag packed for school I got my bike and rode to the bridge up ahead. I parked my bike next to a wooden pole. I looked at the bridge and then spotted a little boat, floating above the water. I scrambled down the hill, tripping on a rock and slid the rest of the way down to the boat. I heard the school bell ring. I quickly untied the boat and set off. It took a long time until I got to school. I saw two blue cod on the way and when I arrived at school everyone was looking at me but my teacher had her angry face out!!!!!!!!!

Swimming Reflects non

Hide and seek

Sticks are  breaking, someone is coming. I felt anxious but I was ok. A piney smell is drifting across my nose. Spiky leaves touch my back. I can hear Shannon coming with excitement. I saw someone coming, it was Floyd. I giggled with laughter quietly. I tried to move my hiding spot but I was too late. I think I got caught 11 h. I wanted to play again but it was time to go to class.
